Strengthening digital economy: ABA sponsors the 1st Digital Trade Forum
ABA Bank, the largest commercial bank in Cambodia1, became the Silver Sponsor of the 1st Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo, organized by the Ministry of Commerce on 13-16 December. This innovative forum promotes the country’s digital economy by supporting digital trade and globalizing local products.
The landmark event was presided over by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, high-profile speakers, and other relevant key stakeholders.
The event hosted remarks and panel discussions within the digital commerce landscape on policy frameworks, artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, consumer and data protection for business
transformation, and youth debate on the future of AI in digital trade.
In addition to the sponsorship, ABA Bank’s Chief Risk Officer, Kleine Buening Torsten, had the honor of sharing a presentation on ‘Real-World Applications of Data Protection in Business.’ He emphasized how ABA demonstrated its commitment to offering its customers the highest security standards.
Aside from the forum, the organizers launched a campaign themed “From Cambodia Made to Global Trade” to promote local products globally by leveraging e-commerce marketplaces like CambodiaTrade.com and others. ABA has continuously supported the development of the CambodiaTrade.com e-marketplace by integrating its PayWay online payment platform, helping Cambodian SMEs bring their businesses online and accept cashless payments via ABA PAY conveniently and securely.
